In 2001, Japan was faced with an outbreak of BSE, and our group was one of the companies that played an unfortunate role in the contamination crisis.

After thorough reflection, we vowed to prevent a similar event from ever occurring again. To meet this goal, we have set up a strict compliance structure, which includes continuous evaluations by a committee of outside experts.

Also, in order to reduce the danger of excessively centralized authority, we have established a system of autonomously operating divisions. A division general manager is appointed for each division and a local COO is appointed for each group company besides a representative.
